HELPING!

Grandma has always had a creative streak.  For most of her life she wrote poetry (which is a subject I’ll share in a later post). The past few years she hasn’t had the focus to write much.  So…how does a creative Grandma express her creativity?  It comes out in wacky ways.  And it usually reveals itself when no one is around.

Even though Grandma isn’t left alone much, she seems to make the most of it when she is.  She will sometimes rearrange things in an artistic or interesting way.  Often it’s completely nonsensical.

Here are some examples:

Here, Grandma has arranged all the wrenches in the house.

A train of wrenches. I am not sure how long this was there before I noticed it. This was done on top of a cabinet just inside the front door.

Grandma made a dress for the troll doll out of doily and ribbon. She then arranged the doll with the figurine in front of the clock.

Grandma made a dress for the troll doll out of doily and ribbon. She then arranged the doll with the figurine in front of the clock. I’m not sure what the plate is about. This is 100% creepy.

My favorite is this one:

I came home late one night and Grandma was in bed. This was left on the table.

I found this on the table when I came home one day. Can I get an “awwwwww”?

My brother and I call it “HELPING!”

Even though it isn’t actually particularly helpful in a practical sense, I love discovering these little treasures around the house.

That is too funny! I’m glad to see she’s still got that troll doll. We loved visiting her and wondering what the doll would be dressed as… Sometimes a witch if it was Halloween, an angel if Christmas, my kids had so much fun with her.

I love the troll. The arrangement says, to me anyway, Grsndma knows her time (the clock) here is coming to a close. The young man figure is you & the doilly/ribbon dress is how you’ve made her feel beautiful and loved. The train if wrenches is really clever. You have some really good juju going on!
